Product dissolving
-
Dissolving involves an enzyme specifically designed to break down HA safely and effectively. It is used by to dissolve unwanted or problematic product in a controlled manner.ome products are hydrophilic, therefore it is often recommended to reassess or refresh every 5 years. Doing so ensures your results remain balanced, natural, and aligned with your evolving facial structure.
Regular follow-ups also allow for adjustments if:
• Volume needs change with aging
• Subtle repositioning is desired
• Any irregularities or lumps develop
-
Most of the time, dissolving is recommended by our practitioner. There are several reasons a patient might choose/need to have product dissolved:
1. Unsatisfactory results – The shape, placement, or volume does not meet expectations.
2. Overfilling – Too much product was injected, leading to an unnatural or heavy appearance.
3. Migration or lumps – Product may move from the intended area or form small nodules.
4. Complications – Rarely, filler can cause discomfort, swelling, or vascular compromise (reduced blood flow), which requires urgent correction.
5. Changing aesthetic goals – The patient may wish to adjust their look over time or before a different treatment plan.
-
Typically, clients can expect most swelling to be immediate for 1-2 days and mild bruising to the injected area.
-
With dissolving, the enzyme breaks down foreign hyaluronic acid as well as your own body’s unfortunately. Which means, depending on the area treated, type of product and body’s metabolism; it can take up to 6-12 weeks for your own body to rebuild the HA. It is recommended to wait atleast 6 weeks before re-treating the concerned area for optimal results.
-
Product breakdown is usually immediate, however with the swelling and brusising expect full results up to 2-4 weeks post treatment.
-
This will depend on product breakdown vs desired goal.
